Extinction: Rift in the Aether Card Types
Equipment represent various tools, weapons, and armors that can be equipped to dinos to enhance their abilities and provide additional effects. These cards are crucial for augmenting the strength and resilience of dinos, allowing players to tailor their dinos to better suit their strategy.
Overview
Equipment enable players to customize their dinos, enhancing their strengths or compensating for weaknesses, and adding a layer of strategic depth to deck construction and gameplay. They are essential for customizing and enhancing dinos, providing a wide range of effects that can significantly influence the game. Understanding how to effectively utilize equipment, manage energy resources, and integrate these cards into a cohesive strategy is key to mastering the game and achieving victory. Through the strategic deployment of equipment cards, players can create dynamic and engaging gameplay experiences, strengthening their dinos and gaining an edge over their opponents.
Card List
Characteristics
Each action card features the following attributes:
- Name: Unique identifier of the Action.
- Element: One of four elements: Air, Earth, Fire, or Water.
- Cost: The amount and type of energy required to play the Action.
- Subtype/Slot: Either Weapon or Armour, determines the slot the Equipment card occupies on the battlefield.
- Rules Text: Describes the specific effect of the Action card.
Gameplay
Actions have unique mechanics compared to other card types:
- Playing Equipment: Equipment cards are played from your hand by paying the required energy cost. Equipment can only be played during your main phase, on your turn.
- Equipping Dinos: When an Equipment card is played, the player must declare which of their dinos it will be attached to. When it resolves, the Equipment is placed in the corresponding slot (Weapon or Armor) on that dino. If a new Equipment card is played to a slot that is already occupied, the existing Equipment is destroyed and replaced by the new one.
- Resolution: Once played, Equipment cards remain on the battlefield attached to the designated dino until they are destroyed or the dino dies.
Weapons
Weapons provide a range of effects, from increasing power to granting additional combat abilities, making them essential for boosting the offensive potential of a player's dinos. Many weapons increase the power of the equipped dino, making them more effective in combat. Some weapons also grant additional combat abilities, such as dealing extra damage or gaining benefits from inflicting wounds.
Armour
Armor provides a range of effects, from increasing stamina to granting protective abilities, making them essential for boosting the defensive potential of a player's dinos. Many armor cards increase the stamina of the equipped dino, making them more resilient in combat. Some armor cards also grant additional protective abilities, such as preventing wounds, reducing damage, or providing bonuses when intercepting attacks.
